Governors
Luton Infant and Nursery School is a friendly open school and the Governors work with the staff and parents in an atmosphere of co-operation to provide the best possible framework for educating our children. Governors are involved in all aspects of school life and their duties include appointing staff, reviewing the school Development Plan and setting the school Budget. They have three key resonsibilities which are; Ensuring that the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school are clearly defined. Ensuring that the headteacher performs his or her responsibilities for the educational performance of the school. Ensuring the sound, proper and effective use of the school's financial resources. They promise to always act with integrity, objectivity and honesty and in the best interests of the school; and be open and honest about the decisions they make and the actions they take.
Parent Governors are always available for discussions with parents and meet the Headteacher on a regular basis. We currently have a parent governor vacancy - please either email Mrs Hammond on headteacher@lutoninf.medway.sch.uk or speak directly to the school office to make an appointment to meet with Mrs Hammond to discuss the role.
Our Chair and Co chair of Governors, Murray Evans and Susan Skidmore, can be contacted via letter or email through contacting Miss Morgan in our school office. Please mark all correspondence with Private and Confidential across the front of the envelope.
Chair of Governors - Murray Evans
I have been a governor at Luton Infant and Nursery School since September 2015. Education plays a vital role in helping us achieve in later life, and I will always be grateful to all the schools I attended, beginning with Luton Infant School many, many years ago. I am passionate and determined to help the staff and my governor colleagues provide the best possible start in life for the children and families that Luton Infant school serves. After spending most of my career in journalism and public relations, I am currently a senior press officer for Kent County Council.
