Forest School
Forest School is a tailored program delivered over time. It is designed to build on children's independence and confidence through their self-directed learning.
The variety of challenges the children are able to participate in is immense in Forest School. There are opportunities for children to learn independently or in groups in every session in activities such as:
Tree climbing, Den building, Clay faces, A variety of story led activities, Whittling and Exploration.
By taking the learning outdoors we are able to build on children's team skills, resilience, confidence, independence, creative learning, their self-esteem and emotional intelligence.
At Luton Primary School we believe that Forest School will provide the children with the opportunity to take calculated risks, which will enhance their confidence and resilience in life. The children will develop their independent learning first on the school site then they move into the local outside space when they are ready.
The ethos of "there are no mistakes in Forest School" will allow children the opportunity to try again and learn from their experiences.
